She has extensive training in autism, early intervention, behavior management, and the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).

Upon completion of an internship at the Veterans Administration Hospital where she focused on neurology, psychology, laryngectomy, and geriatrics, Winde worked for Bibb County Schools, where she served on the Eligibility and Self-Contained Learning Disabilities Team. Winde also worked with Charter Medical Inpatient Rehab Hospital where she helped develop the dysphagia swallow protocols for Modified Barium Swallow studies. Later, Winde took the position of Speech Pathology State Manager with Communicare/ProRehab, where she supervised a staff of 35 therapists providing evaluation and treatment for the adult population with stroke, apraxia, dementia, brain injury, neurological impairments, and neurodegenerative impairments.

In 1993, Winde moved home to Bainbridge and began working with Speech Therapy Services, P. C. as therapist and Clinic Manager. In this position, she had the opportunity to provide evaluation and treatment to patients with craniofacial anomalies, oral cancer, cochlear implants and autism. From 2010-2018 Winde was employed by the Decatur County Public Schools working with significantly delayed 3-5-year olds with aphasia, apraxia, and significant developmental delays and served on the Behavior Management Team.

In April 2018, Winde returned to Speech Therapy Services, P. C. She is passionate about working with children with severe communication disorders and social communication disorders and is a strong believer that it takes a village to raise a child. Working with Speech Therapy Services, P. C. allows her to use her extensive training and expertise in autism, picture communication, sensory processing, augmentative communication, and behavior modification.  Winde believes that the parent and therapist are a team and strives to educate parents on their concerns via a Parent Support Group.

Winde loves living in Bainbridge, where she is married to Brent.  They are the proud parents of Cole, Sarah Michael and Jonathan.  They enjoy splitting their time between traveling to Athens and sitting on the beach at St. George Island.
